CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

USCSC has been in existence for 20 years as a 501C3 organization. Chaplaincy activities began in 1984 during the LA Olympic Games. I was called in to serve as a volunteer by Lay Witnesses for Christ along with a group of Olympians to do community outreach and ministry to athletes of the world. I did a lot of personal ministry to those in the group who were new to sharing their faith publicly. There emerged the concept of training Olympians for ministry to Olympians.

2023 has been a different year for USCSC. Most of the ministry took place among the three top female 800-meter runners in the U.S. I mentored them throughout the U.S. Nationals and the World Track & Field Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The last Diamond League competition was in Eugene, OR where a new American Record in the women’s 800-meter run was set by Athing Mu (gold medalist from 2021 Tokyo Games). Raevyn Rogers (2021 Bronze medalist) ran her personal best also.
